The Guide

elopement in Savannah

A small wedding here still has the oaks, the squares and the light. You just get them mostly to yourselves.

Why Savannah Works For Small Weddings

Everything is close. Vows, a walk through a square, a toast at a hotel bar and dinner can all happen on foot. You don't need a big production for it to feel like an event, because the city does that part for you.

How I Would Plan It

  • Pick the time of day first, then the place. See the light guide.
  • Choose a weekday morning or late afternoon if you want a square to feel private.
  • If a public square or park is part of your ceremony, check the City's rules for your date. Your planner or I can point you to the right place.
  • Get your license first. It comes from a county probate court, and the planning guide I run walks you through it.
  • Add a Wormsloe or Tybee stop only if you have the time for the drive.

Savannah Elopement Price

Elopements are $1,500. Tell me your date and your plan, and we will work out the place and the light. See Tybee Island or Hilton Head if you would rather elope on the beach, or what a courthouse wedding really involves.

From A Couple Who Did It

Valerie and Anthony told me, "We didn't want a big event, but having good pictures from the day of our union was a top priority."

"I hired Vitor to photograph our elopement. He is a seriously talented photographer. I am camera shy and not so photogenic, but he somehow made me feel at ease, and got some amazing shots."

Jenna, WeddingWire

Small does not mean small on photography. Your elopement can be the most photographed hour of your life, and that is a great thing to have from a day with so few people to remember it.
