Tybee Island

Dunes and sea oats

Tybee is the closest beach to the city, and that makes it easy to add to a Savannah weekend. Dunes, sea oats and the pier give you a totally different set of photos. Some parts of the island face west, so you can actually get a sunset here on the East Coast.

Marrying On The Beach

The City of Tybee requires a beach permit for anything beyond usual beachgoers. The beach stays public and can't be reserved as private. Reservations run from 7 am to 9 pm, and no glass, open flames, dogs or balloon releases are allowed. You set up and remove all your own equipment.
